About Frames in Motion

Frames in Motion is the brainchild of Seattle-based singer, guitarist, and songwriter Jack Shriner. A musical omnivore, Shriner writes multi-layered, harmony-rich music that merges elements of folk rock, indie-pop, prog, and neo-psychedelia. After collaborating many years with bassist and backing vocalist Matt Butler and drummer David Solomon, Jack’s current full-band lineup is a five-piece including Seattle artists Shelley Weiss on violin and vocals, Owen Ladner on keyboards and vocals, Charles Wicklander on bass, and Sam Veatch on drums. The band is back in the studio this year working on a new album—details coming soon.

"A smart, creative force, a singer/songwriter who explores traditional and non-traditional subjects for genre but with a sonic scope that expands beyond conventional expectation." - ARTISTdirect

Shriner and Weiss also perform Frames in Motion material as an acoustic duo. Shows in 2025 included a performance at the Northwest Folklife Festival as part of Buskarama.
